Jane Sterrett is a well known artist whose work combines photographic imagery with painterly effects to produce a unique and vibrant personal style that is strong in color and tactile values. Her work is versatile and adaptable to a variety of subject matter. Her collages have been commissioned by corporate and editorial clients and have been reproduced internationally. She has produced murals for hospital and restaurant sites, and her digital prints have sold widely to individuals and corporations.

She has received numerous awards. Trained as a fine artist, she earned a BFA in 1963 from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in 1965 from Yale, and she studied for a time with Oskar Kokoschka in Salzburg. She has traveled extensively in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia, and is presently on the faculty of Pratt Institute in New York City.
